In this six-week workshop, students will explore and rehearse contemporary works in a pre-professional setting, following the model of the BBT Youth Company which begins the day with a technique class before moving into repertory, improvisation practice, and rehearsals. We encourage all Level 5 and 6 dancers currently enrolled at BBT to take advantage of this opportunity to work with a Bay Area dance professional, and explore contemporary ballet!
The workshop will be coached by Liz Tenuto, director and choreographer of Dance and a Half. With a strong background in ballet and contemporary dance, Liz is the inaugural recipient of FACT/SF’s JUMP Commission and is currently Artist In Residence at CounterPulse. She has performed with San Francisco based choreographers including Laura Arrington, Pearl Marill/Modern On Command, Tino Sehgal (Berlin), AvyK Productions, Anne Bluethenthal, Sara DuJour, and more.
Schedule: Saturdays, 12 – 3 PM (Jan 14 – Feb 18)
Location: BBT, Studio A
*This year’s workshop is open to all Level 5 and 6 dancers currently enrolled at BBT.
