Enrollment for Introduction to Level 1

  • Level placement is determined by BBT faculty and artistic staff; please contact BBT School Manager Jenna Marie with placement inquiries: jennam@berkeleyballet.org

  • Dancers attend all days and times listed with a Level’s schedule.

  • 2024–25 Season: August 12, 2024 – May 25, 2025

  • Dancers are encouraged to enroll in all Performance opportunities; additional level-specific enrollments may open on this webpage throughout the Season.

  • Youth Division Introduction to Level 1a

  • Introduction to Level 1a, 1b, and 1c: Dancers placed in Introduction to Level 1 may enroll in the Introduction to Level 1a, 1b, or 1c schedule.

  • Season:

    • Monday, 4:45pm–5:45pm: Youth Division Introduction to Level 1a Ballet

  • Seasonal Tuition:

    • $1110.00

  • Youth Division Introduction to Level 1b

  • Introduction to Level 1a, 1b, and 1c: Dancers placed in Introduction to Level 1 may enroll in the Introduction to Level 1a, 1b, or 1c schedule.

Performances:

  • Nutcracker 2024: Introduction to Level 1 (Wildflowers: Saturday or Sunday Cast)

  • Policies:

    • Absences: Dancers must attend the minimum number of rehearsals and all mandatory Theater Week rehearsals including Full Call, Tech Rehearsal, and Dress Rehearsal to perform.

    • Dancers must attend their required warm-up classes as scheduled. Dancers who are more than fifteen minutes late for their warm-up class are marked absent for rehearsal.

    • Participating dancers must own the Youth Division uniform including the black leotard or tank top, black bike shorts, and skin-tone shoes for the performances.

  • Theater Week Holds; please note Saturday or Sunday cast specific dates:

    • Please note that dancers in Introduction to Level 1 are called to a few hours within the held rehearsal period listed. We ask families to hold the full time to ensure their dancer is available for their specific rehearsal time. Rehearsal specifics will be provided with the Performance Packet, available in mid-October:

    • Fall Break, no classes or rehearsals, Youth Division Introduction to Level 1 through Level 6: Monday, 11/25/2024 – Sunday, 12/01/2024

    • Monday, 12/02/2024, 4:00pm–9:00pm; Introduction to Level 1 – Level 9; Saturday and Sunday Casts (Full Call Rehearsal at the BBT Studios)

    • Tuesday, 12/03/2024, 4:00pm–9:00pm; Level 6 – Level 9; Saturday and Sunday Casts (Spacing Rehearsal at Oakland Scottish Rite Center)
